Paneer Koftas can be served as a side dish with Indian bread (roti), Paranthas (Fried Indian Bread) or with Rice. Try this simply delicious recipe at home and you will never run away from inviting people for dinner at home.

Serves : 3-4, Makes 7 koftas.

Ingredients :

170gms of Paneer/cottage Cheese.
2 Milk Rusk.
1 Tbsp Corn flour.
2 Large Onions Finely Chopped.
3 Medium Tomatoes Puree.
Ginger Garlic Paste 1 tsp.
Salt, Chilli powder, Garam masala, Dhaniya powder as per taste.
1 Tbsp of Fresh Cream.
Oil for frying

Time : 30mins.

Method :

Grate the paneer and add a little chilli powder.

paneer grated

Make medium size balls of it.

paneer balls

Take 2 Milk rusk and grind it into a fine powder.

rusk powder

Make a ghol (thin mixture) of water and cornflour to dip the paneer balls.

First dip the paneer ball one by one in the cornflour mixture and then roll over milk rusk powder such that the powder should cover the outer layer of the paneer balls.

fried paneer balls

Heat oil in a kadhai. and on slow fire, Fry the paneer balls. Make sure the oil is not too heated up, otherwise the balls would get a darker color from outside but would not cook from inside.

fry koftas in oil

Take out the koftas now on a tissue paper so that excess oil is soaked up.

Heat another kadhai/ pan and pour 3tbsp of oil. Add a half tsp of Jeera (optional). Add the chopped onions and fry till the onions are golden brown in color.

Add Ginger garlic paste. I have used Mother’s Ready made paste in this recipe. However you can use a freshly made paste as well.

To this Add Tomato Puree, and add all the masalas/seasoning as per taste.

Add a little water and let it cook till the sides of the masala starts leaving the oil.

Now add 1 cup water and cook for 5mins on medium heat to form a gravy.

Now to this gravy add 1 tbsp of cream and stir.

Finally add the koftas and Serve hot.

Garnish with coriander leaves if desired.

Note : If dish has to be served later, then before serving heat the gravy and then add koftas. Otherwise, the koftas will become soft and might break.
